For suction we mainly use a closed suction catheter, however my secretions are light. It gets replaced every 3 days.

In addition to the cough assist I also regularly use a shaker vest, “The Vest”.

Also should be noted that Medicare will usually approve a second Trilogy as well as a portable suction machine for use with a powerchair.

Our home suction machine is much more powerful than the one you have shown.

Awesome, thank you for sharing Shawn! I realize I should have noted that we’ve had our equipment for awhile now. Thank you for your information. There is so much out there and just knowing and seeing some of this stuff helps us be able to know what to ask for when dealing with insurance, etc. And great point about the backup ventilator. We do have one of those as well. (When Brian went on hospice (off now) Medicare made us jump through hoops to keep that 2nd vent. Thank you for your information!!
